BLACKPOOL GRAND FINALS NOVEMBER 2005

We could barely believe Blackpool was upon us again and after a year which seems to have flown by the pupils were all very excited and looking forward to putting their hard work to the test.

We had a real mix of pupils who decided to brave it and attend the event this year, from our point of view it was all extremely exciting and everyone enjoyed the experience. Being in one of the most beautiful ballrooms in England and the thrill of competing on the famous Blackpool Tower dance floor was a real treat for all.

Most of us arrived on the Friday and relaxed in the evening after a long journey, we even spotted some DanceRite Christmas shoppers on the Saturday! Later in the evening we all attended the Grand dance at the Tower Ballroom where we were treated to some excellent music and a rather busy dance floor! The finale of the evening was a fabulous latin show which we all enjoyed very much. We all rushed home for an early(ish) night before our 9.00am start on the Sunday morning.

At last it had arrived, the day of reckoning. Fredric and I have never seen so many terrified DanceRite pupils in a room together, thankfully after getting climatised the majority of our group began to relax and really enjoy the event. Twenty DanceRite pupils attended the event this year and we are thrilled to announce the following medal tally;

1st place x 6

2nd place x 5

3rd place x 3

4th place x 3

5th place x 1

6th place x 3

All our remaining pupils who were unlucky enough not to make the finals this year were all in the quarter and semi finals, we are thrilled with every ones efforts and results. We look forward very much to the next competition in Bournemouth (Jan 22nd 2006) where we will be doing our utmost to make sure everyone once again qualifies for November 2006. There are also other events we will be attending in which to qualify and practice the art of competing in May in Luton and August in Bracknell

Needless to say after all the excitement we couldn’t all just go back to our hotels, so after a quick meal and freshen up we all had our traditional get together at a hotel on the seafront.

Well done everyone, we are very proud of you all and can’t wait for Blackpool 2006!

On a personal note Fredric and I would like to say a BIG thank you for our beautiful gifts you presented us with at the Christmas dance, there were very gratefully received but we think you are all really naughty!
