Bournemouth 2008
Soon had Christmas passed and we were back to dancing again. The Bournemouth competition always comes up very soon after Xmas.
Once again the Christine and her team had put on a fantastic event at the Pavilion. The atmosphere in this ballroom was filled with anticipation on what the day of competing would bring. DanceRite turned up with 50 people where almost half were competitors. It must have been a record for the school and hopefully it will increase for the next comp. The week before this event, Fredric & Vicki held a workshop where nerves, stress and preparation before and during a dance event were the focal point of discussion, and how to be at the best on the day. This proved to be successful in more ways than one. The most tangible evidence was the stash of trophies won. 20 pupils attended this event and the trophy tally is as follows 7 x 1st place 9 x 2nd place (we hope to convert these into 1st places next time!) 4 x 3rd place 3 x 4th place 6 x 5th place 4 x 6th place 2 x 7th place We are delighted with each and every one of you who attended. Everyone danced at the top of their ability and few left with nothing to show for it. A special notice goes to Paul who won his SDT Ballroom, Amanda G for coming 3rd in SDT Latin, having been with us for a very short time and Christine for finally making the final in ballroom after much hard work put in.
