This was the second year DanceRite attended the ISTD qualifier in Berkhampstead, organised by Betty Bouston.  With the results in hand it has to be the best result achieved by DanceRite, EVER!

This year’s event was run much smoother than last year, much to the credit of Nicky Miles and his team. It had to be slick and run to schedule as the hall had to be vacated earlier than normal.  Luckily we had no false fire alarm this time as we had last year.

All DanceRite members have worked tremendously hard with their dancing since the last event and it showed. Vicki & Fredric were bursting with pride when the Under 35 Social Dance Test Ballroom result was announced. It was a straight DanceRite final where the placing 1 to 5 was awarded our dancers.

With the growth of numbers of competitors in recent time there was no let up for the DanceRite teachers on the day. Vicki, Fredric and Jonathan were constantly on the floor, feeling the pain and strain when Jive was played and no break between the dances was given.

New members

We saw some new members making their debut on the competition floor, Jackie in Over 50 SDT and Eleanor in Under 35 SDT. They both did very well on this first outing, making finals. Well done.

The list of successes would be too long, but a special mention goes to Teresa, Ben, Jo, Sandy and Sheila who won both their Ballroom and Latin section. Congratulations.

With 18 firsts, 13 seconds, 16 thirds and 18 finals, it was a fantastic day for the school.

Fredric & Vicki wish to congratulate everybody for their hard work and results. We are already looking forward to Bracknell in August.
