Bournemouth 2010

The end of December 2009 and beginning of January 2010 will probably for a long time be remembered for the adverse weather condition this country has seen for many years.
Snow fall hit the whole country and stretched the supply and distribution of grit to its full. Many businesses couldn’t trade and DanceRite pupils couldn’t attend their lessons.
Well there you have it. The preparation for Bournemouth 2010 was far from ideal conditions. In addition, Fredric & Vicki had caught a nasty cold which knocked them for six. If this wasn’t enough, several pupils failed to attend due to injuries caused by the slippery roads days before the event.
Despite the gloomy start to the preceding, DanceRite was determined to get to Bournemouth to make an impact on the dance floor.
This year’s event was held at a local sports centre. Unfortunately, The Pavilion was undergoing major work. The floor for instance, just above the theatre, was being sound proofed. Hopefully we will back there next year as it is one of most beautiful ballrooms in the country.
The majority of our dancers have as protocol suggests, moved up in the grades. To fill the gaps, new hopeful dancers from DanceRite were entering in to the world of dance competitions. Julie, Justine, Simon and Rachel competed for the first time and they all did remarkably well.
At the end of a long day, DanceRite pupils had won a respectable tally of trophies. Fredric & Vicki were very pleased for the dancers as they had once again stepped up to the challenge and delivered.
