Children

The competition started early in the morning with children showing no nerves - Mothers on the other hand – we were a different story and soon had tears streaming and tissues being dealt out!

Amy, James and Rhys were the three youngest dancers taking to the competition brilliantly. Rhys confidently danced his heart out and came away with 6th place in Ballroom and 7th place in Latin. James and Amy then entered the couple’s event and certainly made an impression coming away with 5th place for their Waltz, and 1st place for their cha cha!

Amy and Rhys also went on to dance the open 3 dance event beautifully. For Amy this was ten dances which has to be admired at such a young age!

In the junior section, a confident performance came from Keeran who made the latin semi-final and achieved 7th place in his ballroom. With great posture and a very sincere look on his face as he danced, he was a joy to watch.

Georgie elegantly danced her way into the semi-finals at Silver level which was a tough event, looking amazing on the dance floor. Georgie and Keeran then took to the floor for their couples and open 3 dance events with fabulous routines and danced their way into the semi-finals in these events also.

If there is one word to describe the efforts and performances put in by the young DanceRite pupils at the Bracknell competition it would be Amazing! Well done to all!

Adults

By Vicki Frennessen

Outside it was a fabulous warm summers day and inside the ballroom the temperature was hot hot hot! The level of dancing was very strong and the amount of entries for the competition day was fantastic.

We must congratulate the promoters Lorraine Kuznick and Neil Dewar on their 10 year anniversary and wish them all the luck with future events.

Initially we took to the floor at 9.30am with the children, followed by the adults in the afternoon and evening. The day concluded around 10.30pm! DanceRite was proud and pleased to have multiple finalists and winners in many events. Fredric, Vicki and Jonathan were tested to the full throughout the day as they were rarely off of the floor due to the success of their pupils.

We all left tired yet absolutely euphorious with the thought of Blackpool being the next BIG event and knowing how much hard work needs to take place before our annual pilgrimage!

Well done everyone you never fail to make us proud with lots of dancing wishes from Fredric, Vicki and Jonathan
