It was the time of the year again when DanceRite pupils attended the ISDT medal competition in Bracknell, organised by Lorraine Cullum & Neil Dewar. This is always a well organised event with the added opportunity for a three dance event.

Juvenile

Rhys & Amy

This year DanceRite had 37 pupils entered. For the first time in a long time Fredric & Vicki had decided to give the children of the school an opportunity to compete at this local event. The excitement and anticipation from the boys and girls was a joy to witness.The build up to this event started straight after the last medal exam in June.

At 9.30 in the morning the venue was invaded by excited children and their parents. It would take 14 hours before the last dance of the evening was played.

In the Juvenile social dance test, we had three children entered. They were Rhys, Amy and Gareth. With no fear or nerves to be seen they took to the floor like they seasoned pros and made us all proud. The mums had their tissues ready and believe me when I say there were needed.

For a first ever competition, the children dance very well. All of them left the day having made a round in one at least of their events. Well done.

Junior

In the junior section we had two entries, Keeran and Georgie. Keeran has just started in the school but have shown great commitment and determination in the few weeks he has been with us. When the opportunity to compete was brought up, he was well up for it. Keeran made the semi in Ballroom. There is something in that attitude for everyone to take onboard and learn from.

 

Fredric & Georgie

Georgie has been with DanceRite for many years and has recently become a junior. In her silver event she danced foxtrot and samba. This was a tough event and she managed to make the semi in Samba.

Adults

Hard work amongst our pupils has once again paid off. Our adult section had a very good day with many top results. Vicki and Fredric are very excited seeing the improvements from the previous competition and are already looking forward to next one.
