The May social dance is normally the event in year when DanceRite makes a medal presentation from tests taken since last year’s presentation.

Fredric & Vicki had just returned back from the 2009 Open British in Blackpool with new fresh ideas and inspiration for upcoming competitions and to host this evening's event.

Highest Marks

Unfortunately many of the candidates to this year’s highest marks prize were unable to attend. Since DanceRite adheres to the policy – “You got to be in it to win it”, some contenders couldn’t be considered.

Sandy won the highest mark in both Ballroom and Latin, with a score of 98%, followed closely by Ben, Sheila & Mike in Ballroom and Julie, Ben & Camilla in Latin. Well done!

DanceRite Award

Every year DanceRite presents a member with a special award. It is a prize for outstanding achievements to their dancing or for other accomplishment worth highlighting.
This year’s DanceRite award went to Polly, with the explanation:

- She had made tremendous improvements to her dancing as well as shown undivided commitment and dedication in assisting Fredric & Vicki with the beginner’s and children’s class.  She is truly an inspiration to all other members of DanceRite.

A nice surprise was to see Amanda. She has recently become a mum, but took a well deserved night off motherly duties to pick up her medal prizes.

The evening continued with more dancing provided by Fredric the DJ.
